Janette (Jan) Forsonlafinda
When she was seven, Janette was sent from Jamaica to live with her father in the UK. Being separated from her mother and her grandmother was a difficult experience. She says: ‘There were people like CLR James, Claudia Jones, Darcus Howe. I gained this confidence I never knew I had.’ Windrush Untold Stories will be launched as part of this year’s Big Caribbean Lunch and is a collaboration between Brixton organisations: Empathy Museum, Friends of Windrush Square, Photofusion, Black Cultural Archives, and Born or Made. The project is funded by Lambeth Connections Fund
