‘The right, transphobes, bigots, racists, nazis feel empowered right now. The hatred has always been here steeping, though. I feel that tension every time I am out in the world. As long as trans, queer and marginalised people can find community, joy, love and beauty in our lives, they can never destroy us. It’s been really easy to slip into negative spirals recently, fighting to get my documents changed, getting my passport confiscated, getting death glares in public, getting followed into public bathrooms. But it must also be horrible to live with that much hatred in your heart’

What’s real is that as long as trans, queer, and marginalized people can find community, joy, love, and beauty in our lives, they can never destroy us.
