Key events

Here’s the updated table. Newcastle up to sixth place after maintaining their unbeaten start while Bournemouth remain in 14th.

Here’s Jacob Ramsey after his late equaliser rescued a point for Newcastle. “Yeah, to be fair our first three games have been really good. We’re unlucky not to win against Liverpool, a 2-0 against Spurs and a good performance today.

“I thought in the first half we were a little bit slow, didn’t keep the ball well but second half I think we’ve done well. At half-time the manager said that we didn’t win enough duels and I was playing a little bit deeper today so yeah, duels were a big thing.

“I actually thought Bournemouth played really well today, especially in the first half they controlled the game but yeah, thankful to come on and get the goal.

“There was a lot of negativity around Newcastle in pre-season, before the season started and hopefully we can shut them up and we’ve been doing that so far. Don’t want to get too carried away, it’s only our third game but yeah, enjoying it.”

FULL TIME: Newcastle 2-2 Bournemouth

It’s all over and Glenn Hoddle’s 2-2 shout plays out. Bournemouth have now dropped seven points from winning positions in their three matches. Fair play to Newcastle for hanging in there. Barnes’ quick response to make it 2-1 was hugely important and Ramsey kept this cool to strike home one of Newcastle’s rare second-half chances. It’s Newcastle’s second 2-2 home draw of the campaign.

90 min +5: Christie comes on for Scott, who has been excellent today.

90 min +4: Petrovic lines up his wall as Dedic strikes one… tamely over the bar.

90 min +4: This is about 30 yards out. Dedic can strike them. Is this his moment?

90 min +4: Is there one more big chance? Perhaps it’s now as Barnes wins a free-kick deep in Bournemouth territory.

90 min +3: More subs by the way. Gannon-Doak and Jebbison are on for Bournemouth with Rayan and Tavernier going off. For Newcastle, Livramento replaces Hall. More housekeeping as Smith is booked.

90 min + 2: Another member of the Newcastle backroom staff is booked as the temperature ramps up.

90 min: Will we get a winner? SIX added minutes!

GOAL! Newcastle 2-2 Bournemouth (Ramsey 88)

Bournemouth concede another late goal and Newcastle are level! Nothing looks to be happening as Murphy’s cross is underhit. But Newcastle recycle the ball, Barnes has a swing and a miss in the box and while others freeze, Ramsey calmly strokes the ball past Petrovic to pull the hosts level.

86 min: When is the late Newcastle charge going to emerge? Nothing so far as Bournemouth continue to press. Marco Rose winning the tactical battle so far.

85 min: Smith takes a cross to the side of his head and goes down. Only a brief delay though as he shakes himself back to clarity.

84 min: Bournemouth take a short free-kick and as the Newcastle wall stands still rather than charges out, Tavernier pings a left-footer which goes well wide. Dozy defending though.

83 min: Scott evades a couple of tackles before being tripped by Ramsey. A smart bit of running the clock down.

81 min: Boos as Smith slowly limps to the sidelines to get treatment. The camera pans to Dan Burns and his son in the stands. Both smile and Burns Jr give a cheery wave. Has no-one told him the score?! Probably just a lovely, happy fella like his dad.

80 min: The second half has been way less entertaining than the first. Bournemouth have been happy to hold what they have and Newcastle haven’t got their dangerous forwards into the game. All the substitutions have rather affected the flow as well.

79 min: A reminder for Bournemouth that they’ve been leading both their Premier League games so far only to slump to a defeat and a draw from those winning positions.

77 min: Two more Newcastle subs. Murphy and Steur on for Elanga and Gonzalez.

76 min: Newcastle fans looking a little hacked off as Botman plays the ball straight out after trying to chip a pass down the line to Hall.

75 min: Sweet turn by Fernandez-Pardo in the box but his cross deflects back of him. Bournemouth bring on Cook and Brooks for Kluivert and Adams.

73 min: Tavernier bursts down the left but can’t get a shot off. Scott has a go but it’s off target.

72 min: Time shortly for Bournemouth to make some changes as they try to see this one out.

70 min: Newcastle have scored twice in both their Premier League matches so far. They’ll have to keep that record going to get anything from this. It’s all getting to Jaissle, who is booked for going out of his marked zone.

69 min: Fernandez-Pardo wins a corner and then crosses into the box. Hills heads clear but Bournemouth are somewhat on the back foot now. Some light relief as Scott expertly controls a ball out of the sky before being fouled by Wissa.

68 min: Into the final quarter of the ‘Eddie Howe doesn’t manage either anymore’ derby.

67 min: From the free-kick, Hall and Gonzalez combine but the cross is headed clear. It’s hurl into the box time from Dedic but Bournemouth do enough to clear before winning their own free-kick.

66 min: Kluivert takes a yellow after wrestling Fernandez-Pardo to the ground.

65 min: Hornicek has to show nimble feet, his drag back stopping Kluivert robbing him of the ball as the goalkeeper tries to clear.

63 min: Here comes the double Newcastle change. Off go Willock and Miley and on come Ramsey and Fernandez-Pardo.
